Dear colleagues,
I would like to bring to your attention a conference on “Impact analysis for evidence based policy-making: – Practical experiences from Africa- , which is organized by the Ministry of Strategic Planning, Development, Evaluation of Public Policies and the Coordination of Governmental Action, represented by the ‘Observatory of Social Change’ between the 11-13. October 2010 in Benin. The upcoming conference addresses practitioners of impact analysis around Africa, from the political arena, public administration, private sector, researchers and consultancies as well as development partners. The conference wants to provide a platform for exchanging lessons learnt on methods and instruments for analyzing economic and social impacts of development interventions from different initiatives and projects on the ground.

J’aimerais attirer votre attention sur une conférence dont le titre est « Analyse d'impacts en Afrique : Pratique et aide à la prise de décision» qui est organisée par le Ministère de la Prospective, du Développement, de l’Evaluation des Politiques Publiques et de la Coordination de l’Action Gouvernementale (MPDEPP-CAG), représenté par l’Observatoire du Changement Sociale. La conférence s’adresse aux praticiens tels que des chercheurs, les structures gouvernementales, les cabinets et bureaux d’étude, les représentants de la Société Civile et les partenaires au développement qui sont chargés de conduire les analyses d’impacts pour améliorer la prise de décision et la responsabilité mutuelle. Avec cette conférence, il est envisagé d’échanger sur les bonnes pratiques et leçons apprises en matière de méthodes et d’instruments pour analyser l’impact économique et social des interventions au développement .

17-19 November 2010, Brussels - EASY-ECO Conference on Sustainable Development Evaluation in Europe: From a Decade of Practices, Politics and Science to Emerging Demands
The 2010 EASY-ECO conference in Brussels on the European perspective of evaluation of sustainable development (SD) will be the final event in the EASY-ECO series of events. It will take stock of almost a decade of the EASY-ECO programme and SD evaluation practice at EU and national levels in order to identify the challenges ahead. We invite practicioners, employees of public institutions and academics to submit abstracts by 15 June 2010. Young researchers can also apply for an EU Grant to cover the costs of their participation. Most interesting papers will be published in « Evaluating Sustainable Development » (Editors A. April 7th. 2010 Johannesburg, South Africa: "Virtual Conference on methodology in programme evaluation"
The Wits Programme Evaluation Group, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg is organising a virtual conference on methodology in programme evaluation during April 2010. The conference aims to attract papers, case studies and workshop or teaching materials, from persons working both in the developed and the developing world. It is being held between April 7th and April 9th 2010, when upload of draft conference contributions takes place.
