My presentation

Hi all,

So to set the ball rolling I introduce myself briefly.

I have five years of experience in evaluation. I’m an urban planner, graduated from the French Urban Planning Institute (Paris). And I’m also a young researcher, currently writing my PhD about evaluation applied to urban projects, using the lens of evaluation for energy efficiency in sustainable urban developments in France. I firstly came to evaluation through a professional experience of setting up, coordinating and leading an ex-post evaluation for an urban project in Paris area. More recently, I also worked as a research assistant in evaluation for a consulting firm working in international development.

Let’s connect and share our experiences!

My presentation

Dear all,

Let me also introduce myself briefly:

I have been working in the area of evaluation of international development interventions since 2007. First, from 2007-2009, I was with the evaluation unit of the ILO's International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labor. At present, I am carrying various hats at the same time: In my main (full-time) job, I am in charge of the development projects of the Lutheran World Federation. We have about 100 small to medium size projects around the world. Next to that, I am a (part-time) PhD student at the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance. My PhD focuses on impact evaluation methods. Another part-time occupation of mine is to do consultancy work in the field of evaluation. And last, but not least, I am a (coopted) member of the EES Board.

In short, I don't feel that "new" to the evaluation field anymore, but as the youngest EES Board Member (I believe so?!), I found it an important task to take care of the concerns of young and new evaluators - which is why I set up this TWG together with Albine.

I look forward to your introductions!

Hi everyone!

Hi everyone!

I'm João and i'm from Portugal, like Mariana, but i've been living and working in Brazil for three years now. I work in Sao Paulo, in a M&E consultancy firm as evaluation coordinator and i've worked in several different evaluation, monitoring and baselines.

Since 2013, i've been also working in communication for evaluation use, particularly data visualization. The paper i presented in Dublin was about that.

Again, congrats to Albine and Julie for the initiative!

Hello!

Hi all,

Let's introduce myself.

I have a background in development economics and in sociology. I have always been very concerned by the fact that everybody should have the same chance in life, but that depends a lot from policy design and policy focus in the area you live. That why I chose to study development economics, and that's how I discovered the field of evaluation.

After my studies in France, I started to work on EU policies, focusing on labour and education issues. First as a research assistant, using quantitative analysis, and then in consulting company, using mainly qualitative techniques. I worked in particular on youth and education policies, with a particular interest for vulnerable population. To explore quantitative paths in evaluation, I am currently finishing an advanced master in statistical data analysis in Belgium (Ghent) and wish to continue in that field.

I am looking forward to meeting you!
